What are Emulators and Roms
Emulators: Emulators are small computer software that enables a user to play retro games on their PC or modified console. There are many emulators for each console and choosing which emulator to use can be difficult. If you’re using a console for the emulator there is not as big of a selection of emulators to choose from.Roms: Roms are the "game" files that are used by emulators in order to play the game. e.g. Roms are like the game and the emulator is the console. But the difference is you don't put the Rom in the emulator, you achieve this virtually by opening the Rom in the file options tab of the emulator.
Here are my suggestions for emulators with the associated consoles. I have categorized them for ease.
